As part of a regular feature, we bring you face-to-face with the people behind the scenes. This time we meet Daniel Jackson, our latest new team member in Canberra, Australia. He joins us from the Australian Defence Force, bringing with him expertise in MAPS and extensive military and public sector experience.

“As one of the newer members of the team here in Canberra Australia, I’ve been asked to introduce myself to both customers and my colleagues at Allocate. My involvement with Allocate group and the MAPS product began in 2013 as a member of the Australian Defence Force, working inside the Army’s Career Management organisation. I was immediately impressed by the potential of the MAPS product and I remain impressed by the potential on offer in V6 and the new opportunities presented by OneView.

In terms of my own experience I bring a substantial level of military knowhow to the Allocate team here in Australia, as well as other broader government organisations. I served in the Army reserve for 22 years and worked in and around public service for the same length of time.

Beyond my military endeavours and work life, I have a young (ish) family made up of a wonderful and talented wife and four mostly wonderful children (12, 6, 4 and 1), who are all busy growing up and getting into their own endeavours. We enjoy outdoor pursuits (most of the time) including skiing, paddle boarding, beach going etc. I have also recently re-discovered analogue music and thoroughly love the process and mindfulness I get from playing vinyl LPs on a 40-year-old turn table…. It’s a long way from the speed and convenience of digital, but the quality is amazing.

I am looking forward to a rewarding and challenging career here at Allocate Australia, and I hope to meet more of you in the coming weeks, months and years”
